EDGAR M. RIVERA is an aggressive and zealous litigator and trial attorney. He has represented hundreds of employees in individual, multi-plaintiff, collective- and class action litigation before administrative agencies, and state and federal courts, as well as FINRA, JAMS, and AAA. His knowledge and experience has lead to millions of dollars of settlements for his clients, including multiple six-figure settlements against the City of New York and private employers.
Mr. Rivera also has advised, and represented, employers regarding compliance with employment laws, employee agreements, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, theft of confidential information, and unemployment insurance benefits. He is a clear communicator, and his guidance has prevented countless problems.
Mr. Rivera is published in the New York State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Journal. He frequently speaks on issues in employment law, including appearing on PIX 11.
Mr. Rivera graduated from Fordham University (B.S. in philosophy with a minor in mathematics) and Fordham University School of Law (J.D.). During law school, he was a member of the Urban Law Journal, and interned with Judge Jaime Ríos of the Queens County Supreme Court and JPMorgan Chase in the Legal and Compliance Department.
Mr. Rivera is admitted to practice law in the states of New York and New Jersey. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
